The 25th edition of MIMARTE, a festival of theatre in public space taking place from 1 to 6 July 2025, celebrates its history while projecting a bold and inspiring future, standing out as a bridge between past and future. This edition is conceived as a living manifesto in support of artistic creation in public space, framed within the celebration of Braga’25 – Portuguese Capital of Culture. In this context, the Municipality of Braga invites emerging national artists to submit innovative and disruptive proposals that align creativity, impact, and a deep connection with public space and the wider public.

The open call for emerging artists (individuals or companies) forms an integral part of MIMARTE’s mission to promote new aesthetic languages, strengthen the national artistic landscape, and integrate young creators into the festival’s programme. This is a meaningful opportunity for emerging talent to present their work, contributing to the democratisation of culture and the celebration of urban space as a stage for encounter and transformation.

Eligible projects must meet the following criteria:

be conceived for public space or unconventional venues;

present innovative and disruptive qualities within the current aesthetic and dramaturgical landscape;

be available for public presentation in July 2025;

be created and performed by national artists or artists residing in Portugal.
