The Outdoor Arts Portugal platform, promoted by Bússola, in co-production with 23 Milhas (Ílhavo), Casa Varela (Pombal) and Ponto C (Penafiel), and with the support of the Portuguese Republic - Culture/Directorate-General for the Arts, announces the opening of applications for the Outdoor Arts Portugal 2025 Creation Grant. This grant aims to support emerging artists in the development of two original works within the scope of outdoor arts and contemporary circus, with its premiere scheduled for 2026. The supported projects should explore new forms of interaction with public space and/or non-conventional spaces, promoting aesthetic innovation and the experimentation of new dramaturgies.
Emerging artists, either Portuguese nationals or residents in Portugal, whose projects are intended for public or non-conventional artistic presentation spaces, are eligible to apply for this grant. Preference will be given to proposals that incorporate innovative practices in the field of street arts and contemporary circus. The support provided includes a grant of €12.500, specialised artistic mentoring, artist residencies, and logistical support. The selection will be made by an evaluation committee comprising representatives of the co-producing entities, based on criteria such as aesthetic innovation, feasibility, and contribution to the development of the outdoor arts and contemporary circus sector.
Applications will be open until 23 July 2025 and must be submitted exclusively in digital format via the Outdoor Arts Portugal website. For more information and to submit applications, interested parties should visit www.outdoorarts.pt or contact us via email at info@outdoorarts.pt.
