IN SITU – The European Platform for Artistic Creation in Public Space has just announced the second open call of the PLATFORM 2025–2028 programme, co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Commission. The call is aimed at emerging artists working in public space and non-conventional contexts and will be open from 31 October to 18 December 2025.
With a network of 27 international programmers and over 20 years of experience supporting artists across Europe, IN SITU is looking for artistic projects currently in development that have not yet premiered or toured, but are beyond the initial idea stage. Selected artists will have access to an online learning and support programme and an in-person immersive lab, combining training sessions, peer exchanges, and project presentations to international programmers. Chosen participants will receive a grant, plus travel support, as well as meals and accommodation during the lab. A total of five Immersive Labs are planned between May and August 2026, hosted by different IN SITU partners.
Applications are open to artists residing in the European Union and in countries participating in the Creative Europe programme, including Portugal, as well as outermost regions and overseas territories. There is no age limit, but applicants must have basic conversational English, as it is the working language of the programme. The call prioritises projects that explore the relationship with public space, promote direct interaction with communities, and can adapt to urban, rural, or natural contexts. Applications that embrace inclusion, diversity, and environmental sustainability - core values of IN SITU - are especially encouraged.
Following the immersive labs, some selected projects may receive further production and residency support, leading to a public presentation during the FOCUS 2027 event, which will take place in August 2027 in Pristina, Kosovo, as part of the HAPU festival.
Applications must be submitted through the online form available at www.in-situ.info by 18 December 2025 (midnight CET). Two online information sessions will be held on 13 and 25 November 2025, open to all interested applicants.
