Showcase online Outdoor Arts Portugal 2026

The Outdoor Arts Portugal Online Showcase 2026 will take place on 17 November, presenting seven street arts and contemporary circus projects with potential for national and international touring in 2027. The initiative once again brings together artists, companies and cultural programmers in a digital format dedicated to discovering new artistic creations for public space.

The presentation will be streamed on the Outdoor Arts Portugal YouTube channel, featuring a live chat that will encourage interaction between artists, programmers and audiences. Following the premiere, the video will remain available online, extending the reach of the projects presented.

The 2026 edition features seven projects selected through an open call, reflecting the diversity of artistic languages, approaches and creative processes shaping contemporary artistic creation in Portugal:

  • A body and other objects (the short story), by Ana Jordão

  • À Deriva, by Fernando Nogueira

  • Budô, by Cerca Trova

  • Chão, by Uatumã Fattori & Leo Calvino

  • Homúnculo, by Homens dos Copos / George Swattridge & Rafael Gonzalez

  • Monstrum, by João Pataco & Miguel Baltazar

  • Virulana, by Merlina

Structured around a pitch format, the showcase offers artists an opportunity to present their projects to programmers, festivals and cultural organisations from different countries, fostering new possibilities for collaboration and artistic touring. At the same time, it provides an insight into the evolution of contemporary artistic practices, highlighting different approaches to creation and engagement with public space and its audiences.

As part of the Outdoor Arts Portugal platform's wider strategy, the Online Showcase strengthens its ongoing commitment to promoting, supporting professional development and fostering the internationalisation of Portuguese artists and organisations, contributing to greater visibility for Portuguese street arts and contemporary circus within international programming networks.

The Outdoor Arts Portugal programme is promoted by Bússola, with the support of the Portuguese Republic, Culture, Youth and Sport, through the Directorate-General for the Arts.
