Inês Pinho is a performance artist whose expression emerges from the intersection of juggling, dance, and acrobatics. Before dedicating herself to circus arts, she was a rhythmic gymnastics athlete for 11 years, having represented Portugal at the 2015 World Championships.
She trained at the Escola Profissional de Artes e Ofícios do Espetáculo do Chapitô (2016) and later at the Instituto Nacional de Artes do Circo – INAC (2021). She considers herself a visual storyteller and seeks to create a dialogue between juggling and movement, using the body and object to explore concepts and convey ideas. Her artistic research favors processes that provoke reflection and deep listening, works that inhabit zones of ambiguity and symbolism, opening space for individual interpretation.
She has been connected to the circus world for about seven years, participating in residencies, training programs, and creative projects in Portugal and abroad. Highlights include her collaboration with the company Fura dels Baus (2017), Substrato (2022), a co-creation between INAC and Carampa presented at Festival Circa’22, the site-specific performance Ligneis with Giovanni Concato (Festival Novos Ventos, 2023), and the project Estações Efémeras with Leirena Teatro (2024).
In 2023, she premiered her first solo creation, Os Gatos Caem Sempre de Cara ou Como Salvar as Abelhas (Cats Always Land on Their Face or How to Save the Bees), presented at Casa das Artes de Famalicão, Festival L.E.M.E., and the 10th edition of Vaudeville Rendez-Vous.
She is currently living in Toulouse, where she is completing a Circus Arts degree at Esacto’Lido.
