Joana Dias is a Black Portuguese multidisciplinary artist working across contemporary circus, music, and movement. She trained at Chapitô in Lisbon and graduated from the National Centre for Circus Arts in London in 2014, specialising in Aerial Hoop and hand to hand acrobatics. She has toured internationally with companies including Upswing, Mimbre, Cirque Bijou, Barely Methodical Troupe, Cirkus Cirkör, Nikki & JD, and Lostdog, and has performed in cabarets, events, and cruise shows. Joana is currently developing her first solo show, 89 — a deeply autobiographical work exploring identity, diaspora, and intergenerational memory through embodied and bilingual performance.
